Welcome to the Scottish Cave Rescue
Organisation web site.
The purpose of the Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation (SCRO) is to provide a
service to search for and to rescue persons and animals from any underground
location (caves, rockfissures and disused mines, except coal mines) in Scotland
or any other part of the United Kingdom, to secure funds and pursue the
following three activities to facilitate such a service:
The Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation was established in 1966 and in May 1989
obtained charity status. In August 2013 we converted from being a trust into a
Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Our current constitution is
